Connect a client's WhatsApp Business account so its AI assistant answers WhatsApp messages

> Full REST + WebSocket API reference: https://api.happ.tools/reference

Connecting WhatsApp lets your client's AI assistant answer customers on their WhatsApp number. The main route is **WhatsApp Business** through Meta; **WhatsApp E-Chat** is the alternative for numbers already served by E-Chat.

## Connect WhatsApp Business [#connect-whatsapp-business]

1. **Integrations** > **Add Integration** > **WhatsApp Business**.
2. Click **Connect** — Happ sends you to Facebook.
3. Sign in to the Meta account that owns the WhatsApp Business account and grant Happ access.
4. Meta returns you to Happ automatically; the integration appears under **My integrations**.
5. Assign an AI assistant to it.

There are no fields to fill in: everything Happ needs comes from the Meta authorisation. You need admin rights on the client's Meta Business portfolio.

## Connect WhatsApp E-Chat [#connect-whatsapp-e-chat]

1. **Integrations** > **Add Integration** > **WhatsApp E-Chat**.
2. Enter the **Phone Number** and the **API Key** from the E-Chat dashboard, then **Connect**.
3. Copy the **webhook URL** Happ shows and paste it into the webhook field in your E-Chat settings. Without it, WhatsApp messages never reach Happ.
4. Assign an AI assistant.
