# API Keys

Create a key for your own apps and scripts to call the Happ API, revoke it when it leaks

**Settings** > **API Keys** issues keys for the [Happ API](https://api.happ.tools/reference). Only owners and admins see this tab.

## Create a key [#create-a-key]

1. **Create** and give it a **Name**, e.g. "Production server".
2. Copy the key (`happ_…`) right away — **it won't be shown again**.

A key has no scopes and no expiry: it carries full access to the workspace. Keep it on the server, never in a browser or a mobile app.

## Use it [#use-it]

Send the key in the `X-Access-Token` header:

## Revoke [#revoke]

**Revoke** next to the key. Apps using it stop working immediately.
